Biography

Majid Sharif was an Iranian writer and translator who disappeared on November 19, 1998, after leaving his mother's home in the Yousef Abad neighborhood of Tehran. He was a victim of the state-sponsored political assassinations known as the Chain Murders. His disappearance and subsequent death remain a significant event in the history of political violence in Iran.

مجید شریف نویسنده و مترجم ایرانی بود که در ۲۸ آبان ۱۳۷۷ پس از خروج از منزل مادرش در محله یوسف‌آباد تهران ناپدید شد و هرگز بازنگشت. او یکی از قربانیان ترورهای سیاسی موسوم به قتل‌های زنجیره‌ای بود. واقعه ناپدید شدن و مرگ او به عنوان بخشی از سلسله جنایات سیاسی آن دوران در تاریخ معاصر ایران ثبت شده است.
